Why Trauma-Informed Yoga is Changing Lives (And Why I'm Excited To Make It My Focus)

As I sit down to share this with you, I’m feeling a mix of excitement and vulnerability. This is a new chapter in my journey as a yoga teacher, and I want to bring you along for the ride. You’ve been such an important part of this community, and I want to reassure you that while I’m stepping into a new focus, the heart of what we’ve built together is staying the same.


 




I’ve Felt the Need for This Shift Deeply

Over the years, I’ve witnessed how yoga can be transformative—not just for the body, but for the heart and mind. I’ve also come to realize how important it is to meet people where they are, especially when they’re carrying the weight of trauma, stress, or mental health challenges.

Personally, yoga has been my anchor during life’s most challenging moments. It’s helped me reconnect with myself, feel safe in my body, and find strength I didn’t know I had. As I dove deeper into trauma-informed practices, I felt a calling to share these tools with others in a way that’s empowering, compassionate, and accessible.


Here’s What I’ve Found

Trauma-informed yoga is for anyone who has experienced trauma—no matter how “big” or “small” it may seem. Trauma doesn’t have to be a life-altering event; it can be the subtle, cumulative stressors that shape how we feel and function in the world.

It’s also for anyone who is navigating challenges like anxiety, depression, ADHD, or complex PTSD (CPTSD). Trauma-informed yoga creates a space where we can move at our own pace, honor our boundaries, and begin to feel at home in our own skin again.

I’ve found that integrating these principles into my teaching not only supports those healing from trauma but enriches the practice for everyone. It makes yoga more inclusive and accessible, offering tools to help us feel grounded, safe, and connected.


What This Means for You

The classes and offerings at the studio aren’t going anywhere—they’ll continue as they are, with the same heart and care you’ve always known. What’s new is that I’m working on creating resources like online courses, workshops, and content that dive deeper into trauma-informed yoga.

My hope is to share these tools with a broader audience while continuing to nurture the incredible community we’ve built here. Whether you’re joining me in the studio or exploring these resources from afar, my goal is to create a space for healing and empowerment that meets you where you are.
